If you do need to return your machine to us by far the most popular method of sending your machine is to have Midgebusters arrange the collection and return of your machine from your house or business.

Predator engines and Texol Midg-IT machines cost £20 each way and other machines (Texol Midgeater Plus & Max units) are £25 each way including VAT.

Alternatively you may wish to consider taking a day trip to Dunoon, Argyll where we can repair your machine while you wait.

We must warn you that if you intend to bring us your machine, you should arrange this in advance by speaking to our office (01369 702147).

In addition, if you are coming via Gourock, there is only one car ferry service to Dunoon which is operated by Western Ferries. Return tickets can be purchased in advance in Gourock at approximately half the cost of tickets on the ferries at "Paul's Food and Wine" (94 Shore Street, Gourock, PA19 1RB) on the left-hand side driving from the east/Glasgow. Note that the Western Ferry leaves from McInroys Point, approximately 2 miles further on.

Further options are as follows :-

Both the Predator engine and the Texol Midg‐IT can be sent through the Royal Mail postal service.

The Royal Mail service we use is Standard Parcel with additional compensation up to £500. The link explains the service. Your Midg-IT/Midg-E machine should weigh approx. 13Kg. The Predator engine weighs approx. 5 Kg excluding packaging.

If you have a Midgeater Plus or Midgeater Max, you will have to employ a courier. We have found AJG Parcels (0845 4000300) to be the most economic service or Oban Express (01631 563745). Both companies cover locations throughout Scotland. Beyond this area, you will have to obtain quotations from your local providers.

Our standard repair charge is £40 + VAT per hour, plus parts, plus carriage charges if applicable. This includes a full "strip-down", service and re-build procedure and carries a 3 month warranty. Most repairs take up to 2 hours but some can take longer.

Please note, there is a minimum examination fee of £25 including VAT plus shipping costs for estimates not accepted.

This warranty excludes machines returned with blockages caused by the further build-up of midges. A repair will normally take 2 hours but allow for 3 hours if you intend to wait while we repair your unit.

Do not send the gas cylinder as we have our own supply.

Please ensure you package your machine as well as possible because any transit damage that occurs will inevitably be blamed, by the couriers, on poor packaging. You may also wish to record any damage that already exists before you send your unit.

You may also wish to take an image with a digital camera. This is how we record any damage that we notice with incoming repairs.
